Find the perfect wine to pair with your meal or cheese.

Featuring 131 wine varietals, iPairings provides over 1,400 food, wine and cheese pairings from your iPhone or iPod Touch. Looks wonderful on the iPad. Choose your food (or cheese) and find wine pairing suggestions, including a brief description of the wine. Instantly filter results by red or white wine to find your ideal preference.

WHERE TO USE
Use this application in a restaurant to choose wine that pairs with your meal; take it to the grocery store to help select food for your wine at home; browse the cheese case and use iPairings to provide cheese selections for the wine you have in mind. Know that your perfect wine pairings are always close at hand.

HOW TO USE
From the home screen, there are three list options: Food, Wine and Cheese. You may either search or flick through the lists, a touch will bring up pairing recommendations, which you can then view in more detail.

Although this is the first and basic version of this application, it really does do a wonderful job of pairing various foods with the appropriate wines and vice versa. Cant wait for the expanded version to be published. Johnny Sussex

iPairings is useful for selecting food and drink for all occasions. It features an easy-to-use interface. I have iPairings conveniently located next to my restaurant app, Urbanspoon.

You can pick a wine based on a planned meal, OR if you have the wine, plan what meal to make. I also like that it gives you the general type of wine- not a name brand. Many options given for many foods!

Some bad moments

The wine knowledge is poor. In some instances it is excellent, but most it is lacking. This is not much of a help.
